MULTI ACTUATOR VALVES - MULTI BLOCK VALVES
In order to comply with safety and process requirements, combustion equipment is normally fitted with a control valve
assembly that includes various individual valves and controls having various functions.
The control valve assembly can
take up considerable space and involves considerable labour time in its assembly and installation.
The space taken by
valve assemblies is a particular problem in the case of industrial and commercial appliances such as water boilers,
steam boilers and air heaters.
Several manufactures of controls have developed and introduced into the burner market what are referred to
as ‘Multi Actuator Valves’ or ‘Multi Block valves’.
The simplest form of a multi actuator valve is a unit that includes two solenoid or safety shut off valves; however most units
include a wire mesh filter and a gas governor/regulator. The safety shut off functions can be supplied fitted with on-off, high-low
or even modulation control.
Manufacturers have extended the scope of the multi block concept by adding start gas valves, low fire start facilities and
high and low gas pressure switches so that a complete valve system to suit almost all applications can be supplied as one integral unit.
Multi block valves can be supplied suitable for use with various types of gas and capable of operation with a wide range of
electrical supplies.
Care should always be taken to ensure that the specification of the valve complies with the electrical
requirements, gas operating pressure limits and the local gas authority quality and approval requirements.

The Dungs range of Multiblock valves are suitable for operation within an ambient temperature range of -15C to +70C.
The valves units are suitable for use with 50/60Hz electrical supply and can be supplied to operate with either 110v or 230v.
Although standard valve units are supplied to control with an outlet pressure range of 4 to 50 mbar; sizes 415 and 420 if required
can be supplied with an oulet pressure controlrange of 20 to 50 mbar.

The Johnson GM series or valves generally included two main line solenoid valves and a low pressure gas governor.
The valves are supplied in two body sizes, each size can be supplied with connection flanges to suit a range of pipe sizes
The valves approved to EN161 and EN88 are suitable for operation with natural gas, towns gas, propane and butane,
and suitable for ambient operating temperatures up to 60C.
The body of the valve and flanges are from aluminium and the internal parts are stainless steel.
Valves are available to suit 110, 220, 230, 240v AV 50/60Hz electrical supply.
